Attracting people interested in your solutions

Use one or several lead magnets.

Lead magnet is a term coined in marketing that literally means "magnet for a potential customer".

A magnet is defined as an object capable of causing a magnetic field around it.

So a lead magnet is a piece that attracts potential customers.

It is often used to obtain the name and e-mail address of people interested in certain products and services.

With this data, the warm-up phase of the lead begins through approaching content. The final objective is to build trust up to the point of conviction for the first acquisition.

Lead magnets are also known as freebies because they are free.

Well, those freebies are the entry to the conversion funnel or cadence.

Examples: E-books and PDFs with educational material, infographics as well as videos and mini courses.

All of these are commonly used to attract people interested in the subject matter around the segment your product/service operates in.

Let's go through a quick check list of best practices to get a freebie operating competently for your company.

1. Can readers quickly consume and absorb your content?

It needs to be something quick to assimilate. No 40 page e-books or long email courses. People are overloaded and no matter how interesting they find it, if it's too long, they'll put it off for later i.e. never pick up your freebie again.

2. Does it deal only with a central idea?

Do not dissertate on several topics or on subjects with a wide scope. The more specific the topic, the better.

3. Does the content promote change?

Your freebie should have a step-by-step to take your reader from point A to point B. Example: "X steps to save and generate resources with your industrial kitchen waste"

4. Is the public aware that the problem being addressed exists?

Content should address issues that potentially concern readers or even move them closer to their goals.

5. Is the content unique?

Of course you have to create or even rearrange concepts and ideas in a way that passes on an original idea is unique.

6. And most importantly: Is your content a first step towards a future purchase?

There should be a connection between your freebie and the products and services you sell. It should be a gateway to a world where you have the solutions.

Freebies are great for broadening your radius of action with people who have at the very least, an interest in the things you master and rule.
